What’s the cost of a new bathroom installation?
There is no set price. It all depends on the size of the bathroom and the bathroom set you select.
A great bathroom fitter's quote is usually broken down into subcategories like dismantling, brick work, plastering of walls,
tiling of the floors, wall and shower, painting, plumbing, rubble removal cost and electricals.
It will also indicate when each section of the work will be done.
A bath or shower installation costs about R10 000 for 3 to 5 days to install the bath or shower, do the plumbing,
and tile and apply silicone around the bath, or shower door. You can put aside another R10 000 to tile your bathroom floor and walls
which can take up to 4-5 days. But these days, the trend is to tile part of the way up the wall and to finish it off with a touch of
colourful paint or wallpaper.
If you have enough to renovate a small bathroom, you could spend in the region of R25 000. For a medium sized bathroom installation,
this moves up to R45 000, and then the Sky’s the limit for anything bigger or fancier than that!
